<h2>Balanced Exercise and Fitness Approach</h2>
<p>Every Saturday I go to the local Inner Western Sydney gym and do a leg workout. This is a ritual i have done for as long as I can remember. Whilst at the gym my workout may look something like this ;</p>
<h3>Leg Workout</h3>
<p>leg press 3  X 8 / Superset with BW jumping squat x 20</p>
<p>Leg Extension 3 x 12 / superset with BW jumping split lunge x 30</p>
<p>Hack squat  3 x 10 / superset with wall squat 60 seconds</p>
<p>Hamstring Curl 3 x 10 / superset with 3 x 10 each side 1 legged dead lift @ 20kg</p>
<p>Standing Calf Raise</p>
<p>Seated Calf raise</p>
<p>MT roundhouse kicks 3 x 10 each side on heavy bag</p>
<p>I enjoy using high the latest designed high quality machines , especially after super  setting with a functional BW exercise that has just fired up all of my synergist muscles.</p>
<p>A lot of trainers take the all or nothing approach when it comes to machines.</p>
<p>With all the hype around functional exercise and tools such as Kettlebells people tend to want to wave a flag and say “hey who needs a gym”?</p>
<p>Well in my experience the best results come from using everything we have available and keeping a balanced approach.</p>
<p>incidentally my alternate leg workout done on a Monday looks like this;</p>
<p>Kettlebell swing variations</p>
<p>1 leg dead lift</p>
<p>Dead lift</p>
<p>1 legged squat with sots press combo using  kettlebell</p>
<p>Over head squat KB</p>
<p>Farmers Walk</p>
<p>X Band Walk</p>
<p>Single Leg Swiss Ball Leg Curl</p>
<p>Bulgarian Split Jumps</p>
<p>I have a 3rd leg workout using power rack and barbells but lately as I have picked up my MT training I have not been doing it as much.</p>
<p>The most important thing is to keep balanced and not to over use and 1 exercise modality.</p>

<p>As a mobile fitness professional who has been around the traps for long enough I am constantly hit with messages from people with a barrow to push about the latest and greatest way of training.</p>
<h2>These days everyone is an internet expert</h2>
<p>The fitness industry is constantly re-inventing the wheel because sooner or later the knowledge about how to get fit, stay in shape and lose fat becomes common knowledge.</p>
<p>This would equate to a decline in the demand for our services, unless of course we are actually&#160; good at what we do. <img src='http://www.personaltrainersydney.org.au/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>A lot of self proclaimed fitness experts will have you believe that training methodologies that have worked for the last 30 years do not work…</p>
<p>The behavior is purely a (clever..?) business strategy</p>
<p>Its a way of rustling up some business.</p>
<h3>The truth is out there</h3>
<p>As a Sydney Mobile Personal Trainer who has participated in fitness for over 25 years and been involved in Martial Art for just as long I know the truth to be simple.</p>
<h4>How do I know?</h4>
<p>Well I do it week in week out, have done for years and I have seen the results first hand and in fact lost 30 kg after an injury left me unable to walk for 6 months back in 1999.</p>
<p>The main ingredient in losing weight or fat is to eat within your calorie allowance consistently and adhere to a well designed&#160; exercise plan 4-6 times a week.</p>
