			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Today at the Chiswick bootcamp in Sydney’s inner west we were once again confronted with the a cold rainy day.</p>
<p>Surprisingly (as usual) there was a good turnout again. Great stuff and thanks to everyone who continues to turn up rail hail or shine.</p>
<p>Given the downpour and the effect it had on the conditions,  I changed the session plan from fitness boxing to kettlebell/bodyweight work, as this allowed us to stay in a relatively small area under some trees that provided a canopy from the rain.</p>
<p>When I am working as a Personal trainer or running bootcamps I often use kettlebells to mix things up as well as reap the unique benefits that kettlebells offer, however today’s session was a last resort as it was literally pissing down!</p>
<p>We started off with some <strong>swings/running combo</strong>, then the rest of the session looked something like this:</p>
<p><strong>racked squat / jog -  2min each</strong></p>
<p><strong>bent over row / alternating body weight lunge combo x 2</strong></p>
<p><strong>OH press / BW squat combo 2 min x 2</strong></p>
<p><strong>high pull to squat / star jumps combo 2 min x 2</strong></p>
<p><strong>Bicep curl to double arm over head press / straddles combo 2 min x 2</strong></p>
<p>Anyway , it has been a long time since i posted up in this blog as I have been busy moving and running the other side of the Sydney personal training fitness business.</p>

<p>After running my Saturday Morning Bootcamp today I went to an Inner Western Sydney gym and did a leg workout. My workout was done on gym machines. I have read online about how you have to do this workout or that workout and how time efficient it is. Well I saw a guy rushing around the gym doing such a workout. He did not look good ..Actually his form sucked! What is the point of doing a time efficient workout that does not deliver results ? I am still trying to work that one out <img src='http://www.personaltrainersydney.org.au/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  What is wrong with building a bit of muscle….Any way here is an overview of my workout today</p>
<h2>exercises :</h2>

<li>Leg press </li>
<li>Hack Squat </li>
<li>Seated Leg Curl </li>
<li>Kneeling Leg Curl </li>
<li>Prone Leg Curl </li>

<p>It was a good workout and took me just over an hour to complete.</p>
<h3>Kettlebell Fitness Circuit</h3>
<p>This afternoon I will do a Kettlebell workout in a beautiful inner western Sydney park that will look something like:</p>
<ul>
<li>Swings </li>
<li>Cleans </li>
<li>Push Press </li>
<li>Clean and Jerk </li>
<li>Snatch </li>
<li>TGU </li>
</ul>
<p>This workout should take me about 45 min to complete.</p>
<p>I like doing 2 workouts a day as it allows me to get my fitness level up.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><h1>Personal Trainer offers Shin Splints Treatment in Sydney</h1>
<p>Working as A personal trainer in Sydney I have noticed a lot of people are suffering from shin splints. This includes both clients who come to me and trainers who work with me .</p>
<p>There is an increase in the amount of cases I am coming across lately.</p>
<p>Having suffered shin splints myself I know exactly how frustrating this condition can be.</p>
<p>I had a conversation with a trainer who works with me the other day and she informed that her physio had prescribed acupuncture and EMS (electronic muscle stimulation) and ongoing massage.</p>
<p>Quite frankly I found this approach to be a cop out. I do understand that shin splints can be tricky to treat, but If you are going to take some bodies money you should have a real world practical approach about how to fix the problem.</p>
<p>I do not want to brag or boast, but i have helped ALL of my clients totally recover from this annoying condition.</p>
<p>Having suffered it myself I had the chance to devise a 12 week treatment program that works. I have since applied this treatment in the field to anybody I can find with this condition.</p>
<h2>Lifestyle related</h2>
<p>In simplistic terms the reason people get shin splints can vary, but I have been able to identify a common variable in nearly everyone I have treated for this condition.</p>
<p>it relates back to our technology lifestyle (surprise surprise!). Because of the sedentary nature of our lifestyle our lower extremity can become de-conditioned. Couple that with bio mechanical dysfunction and you have your platform for shin splints. Now add to that medium to high impact exercise such as dancing, skipping, running and even star jumps and you have your complete shin splint recipe. Even on a grassed surface when the ground is a little hard sufferers of this condition will experience symptoms.</p>
<h4>Typical symptoms of shin splints may  include:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Pain and tenderness experienced on the inside of the shin.</li>
<li>Lower leg pain which dissipates  after a few days rest but comes back when running, skipping or dancing starts again.</li>
<li>Swelling on the inside of the shin.</li>
<li>Small bumps and lumps along the inside of the shin bone.</li>
<li>Pain felt when the foot is bent downward (plantar flexion).</li>
<li>Redness discoloration along the inside of the shin.</li>
</ul>

<h2>Balanced Exercise and Fitness Approach</h2>
<p>Every Saturday I go to the local Inner Western Sydney gym and do a leg workout. This is a ritual i have done for as long as I can remember. Whilst at the gym my workout may look something like this ;</p>
<h3>Leg Workout</h3>
<p>leg press 3  X 8 / Superset with BW jumping squat x 20</p>
<p>Leg Extension 3 x 12 / superset with BW jumping split lunge x 30</p>
<p>Hack squat  3 x 10 / superset with wall squat 60 seconds</p>
<p>Hamstring Curl 3 x 10 / superset with 3 x 10 each side 1 legged dead lift @ 20kg</p>
<p>Standing Calf Raise</p>
<p>Seated Calf raise</p>
<p>MT roundhouse kicks 3 x 10 each side on heavy bag</p>
<p>I enjoy using high the latest designed high quality machines , especially after super  setting with a functional BW exercise that has just fired up all of my synergist muscles.</p>
<p>A lot of trainers take the all or nothing approach when it comes to machines.</p>
<p>With all the hype around functional exercise and tools such as Kettlebells people tend to want to wave a flag and say “hey who needs a gym”?</p>
<p>Well in my experience the best results come from using everything we have available and keeping a balanced approach.</p>
<p>incidentally my alternate leg workout done on a Monday looks like this;</p>
<p>Kettlebell swing variations</p>
<p>1 leg dead lift</p>
<p>Dead lift</p>
<p>1 legged squat with sots press combo using  kettlebell</p>
<p>Over head squat KB</p>
<p>Farmers Walk</p>
<p>X Band Walk</p>
<p>Single Leg Swiss Ball Leg Curl</p>
<p>Bulgarian Split Jumps</p>
<p>I have a 3rd leg workout using power rack and barbells but lately as I have picked up my MT training I have not been doing it as much.</p>
<p>The most important thing is to keep balanced and not to over use and 1 exercise modality.</p>

<p>As a mobile fitness professional who has been around the traps for long enough I am constantly hit with messages from people with a barrow to push about the latest and greatest way of training.</p>
<h2>These days everyone is an internet expert</h2>
<p>The fitness industry is constantly re-inventing the wheel because sooner or later the knowledge about how to get fit, stay in shape and lose fat becomes common knowledge.</p>
<p>This would equate to a decline in the demand for our services, unless of course we are actually&#160; good at what we do. <img src='http://www.personaltrainersydney.org.au/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>A lot of self proclaimed fitness experts will have you believe that training methodologies that have worked for the last 30 years do not work…</p>
<p>The behavior is purely a (clever..?) business strategy</p>
<p>Its a way of rustling up some business.</p>
<h3>The truth is out there</h3>
<p>As a Sydney Mobile Personal Trainer who has participated in fitness for over 25 years and been involved in Martial Art for just as long I know the truth to be simple.</p>
<h4>How do I know?</h4>
<p>Well I do it week in week out, have done for years and I have seen the results first hand and in fact lost 30 kg after an injury left me unable to walk for 6 months back in 1999.</p>
<p>The main ingredient in losing weight or fat is to eat within your calorie allowance consistently and adhere to a well designed&#160; exercise plan 4-6 times a week.</p>
